The city government has set up a special hotline for complaints about excessive noise in Lisbon.

A statement from the City Council states that the “Ruido line” 0808910555 is directly served by the Lisbon Municipal Police, who will take steps appropriate to each situation.

The note of the Lisbon Chamber stresses that excessive noise “is one of the factors that most undermine the well-being of people,” so when rules are violated, citizens should file a complaint.

“This line is a direct and dedicated channel for citizens to report situations of excessive noise to the municipality,” says Lisbon City Councilman Angelo Pereira, quoted in the statement.

For several years, residents of some areas of Lisbon, such as Cais do Sodré, Santos, and Bairro Alto, have complained about excessive noise in bars and on the streets.
